Here's my built-in-'59 dash setup. The typical '50's instrument overkill. The idea was the more like a P-51 instrument panel the better. Using two water temp gages, one for each head on a flathead was the hot setup back then which gave you 10 instruments instead of the usual eight. That's also gen-u-wine "road warrior" patina on the door jamb from when it was my daily driver.

Here's the current setup on my '29 rpu, a copy of the Doane Spencer dash using eight SW Greenlines.

Im glad I found this thread, I was just having this conversation with my dad about the gauges in my A. I haven't decided on what I was doing, this was great inspiration!

    1932 Ford 3W dash ( both above )

    1932 Ford roadster dash ...

As a side note ... I like for the gauges to match the sweep if possible

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Not like this below set ... the amp gauge is not the style ... of the other two.

But I understand that most Speedometers do not have a sweep like the three gauges shown separately. :)

The current dash in my Essex. Just like the 70's, bro! I plan to build a complete new dash for the truck next year in a more traditional style. The gauges are late 70's SW units.

These are the guages I'm planning to put into my '29 RPU. From what I've been told, they're supposedly from a '34 Huppmobile. NOS, and sweet as hell!

Nice Surprise! About a '27 or so..

I wonder what this came from, possibly British or European? Sort of art decoish but I have never seen this style of winged face plate in anything that I can recall?

At top is a 28 Hudson or Essex Dash lurking in the dark
    [IMG]

This looks to be late 30's or 40's GM, "AC Delco"

    Early 30's? Plymouth at right
Not sure what the face plate at left is, Would be ok in a ratrod

    '33ish Plymouth
    [IMG]

    '34 or '35 Plymouth?

    '35ish Hudson
    [IMG]

Another style of Hudson, '35ish, Higher priced models got the cluster shown above

well it's a little bit newer, but my piece i made to hold my oil pressure and volt gauge. I made it out of part of a bad nose gear assembly off of an airplane. nice aluminum plate to work with. made it on the 1923 bridgeport. [IMG]
and my center console. yes it's altimeter, I have a lot of aircraft stuff in my car,so I had to install an altimeter. got the nice analog clock off of an airplane too. this piece was a cassette holder, i cut all that out,and made the aluminum plate and the other pieces. then leather wrapped it. Here's the dash my dad and I made for the 27 tub. We shaped it to fit the champion guage panel with SW wings guages.

Here are the gauges I will be using in my 53 Tin Woody project. I have included a couple of engine photos as well. I will be putting a T5 in it. Hopefully to be done by late summer.

Not sure what happened to the other pics. I have the Green Line 8k tach that will be column mounted.
