The biggest monstrosity ever was Paul Seminecks 55 Merc hardtop from West New Yoek ,New Jersey.It had four front fenders and 4 rear 1/4 panels!

hahah,,,,agreed,,,,,my dad actually (unfortunately) worked on that car when he was young....he told me the guys name,,,it sounded familiar (because i'm obsessed with the little pages),,so i scoured my collection and found the car in several of the little books,,,,i was disappointed,,the design was ugly,,but the work seemed top notch at least,,,,the engine compartment did kick ass though,,,it was practically all chrome!
paul owned a radiator shop,,my dad worked for him for a short time and paul taught my dad a lot about bodywork....my dad later chopped a 50 merc (in the 50;s,,north bergen)..i have pics of it in his driveway i will post when i can get a scanner,,(bet you never saw this one 00mack),,,,,,,its the most prized pic of my dad i have,,,,

 

Jonz that thing is why acetylene should only be sold with a doctor's prescription.
