I haven't noticed any changes, and I can't figure out WTF some of you are talking about. Seriously, what's changed? Slingin the same fuckin wire, wrenches, mud, and paint. Pushin the same kinda sandpaper and gettin burned, scratched and stained like always.

Ok, wait a min. Forget that. It dawned on me that y'all was talkin about the site. Grammar police are definately more visible. Being PC is too, but a good ol-fashined ass rippin is due some folks here, especialy me sometimes. I don't get the "scared to post" thinking either. Got somethin to say, say it. You read the rules so jump in. We really want to hear from you, all of us, because sometimes our stock of "targets" dwindles down to bones and scraps. And member numbers? My member number is just under, uh, wait. Wrong member...

Bullshit aside, all this place needs is a milk crate and a beverage, then it feels just right.

 

like alot of other people, i don't post much, but i do a hell of alot of reading. unfortunately, i'm not in a position to have a project, so i get my 'fix' thru the HAMB.

i'm continually amazed at the knowledge here, and how fast 'lost' people and cars are found, mind boggling at times.

spend most of my sunday mornings into early afternoon living thru your projects/adventures, thanks to you all.

Wouldnt it be nice if the HAMB had a sub-forum for traditional hot rods and customs ONLY? No International trucks, no 48-52 Dodges, no dog threads, house threads, airbag threads, boat threads, or modern car threads.

 

Yea, I haven't taken the time to read through this thread because the title seems pointless. Why would a forum with such specific intentions, catering to specific enthusiasts need to be referred to as 'modern'? Isn't the H.AM.B. the preservation of a legacy and/or ideal or do we have a bunch of progressive members trying to divide it just like other time honored traditions?

OR

Is this about the younger members who are carrying the torch of tradition
with an interest in said preservation?

I remember when this place was still the "Hawaii Association of Mortage Brokers", Its definately changed alot since then. I just really miss talking about home equity, and prime real estate locations... All this tradional Hot Rod and Custom stuff has me all confruzed .

Only been here a short time, and loving it, known about this place a while, don't know why I didn't jump in sooner.
I might be a newbie here, but been around hotrodding most of my life so hardly makes me a newbie there.
I LOVE traditional style hotrods, can never understand why someone would want to smooth out an old car, and to me the word billet is more offensive than fuck.
If I have a comment to make, I'll make it. Hate political correctness, another modern day thing that pisses me off.
Have a HUGE respect for our hotrodding forefathers, without them we wouldn't be here, also have a big respect for diehard hotrodders that have no pretentioness about them.
The threads on here are fantastic and some are just pure porn such as the texas playboy to use an example.
To Ryan who obviously created this site. You have done a big service for rodding and I surely won't take this place for granted, the immense combined knowledge here is incredible and will be a huge help in building my roadster.
And someday it would be good to meet a few from here, and if some of you ever get down under you will find we are quite a hospitable lot and always make our American cousins welcome.
