Looks great! I worked on an early '28 Touring years ago, remember taking off the door sills was a pain. Hope installing them isn't a problem for you.

I'm not sure - I gave Ben photos of old Fords, looking for that dark green color that I wanted, he came back from the paint guy with a good match!

 

The phaeton is moving under its own power! Ben just took it out for a spin and filled up the tank! Still some adjustments, but I get to drive it for the first time tomorrow!

wow! Big day today! I got to drive the phaeton - so fucking happy, can't wait to have it all finished! Also, I'm now a member of the Kontinentals! (And I think I"m gonna have to build a roaster for my lovely wife next)

 

Congrats on these milestones...understandably heartfelt moments...and you have great taste in the execution of the Hotrods you choose to build...they're awesome, thanks for sharing the journey with us...Good times indeed...

yep, this was the body that was up in the rafters at the speed shop.

 

Drove the phaeton home yesterday, from Johnson City! So much fun - a pleasure to drive, plenty of pep, just need to remember the sunscreen next time! Very happy to have it in the garage until it goes back to Rancho Deluxe for paint and a three-piece hood in November.

I'm driving this thing as much as possible and having such a great time! Ben did a tremendous job putting it together, it's fast and nimble, every time I drive it I get to blow off some tech nerd in a new Porsche!

It had to turn out good. It's sharing a garage with the coolest '29 Tudor on the road today!

 

I don't get out to Dripping Springs (AKA Stoplight Springs) too much

 

Update: still driving the wheels off this one, enjoying the mild fall/winter weather here in Austin! I'm supposed to give it back to Ben for final paint, but I'm having too much fun running errands and taking cute ladies to lunch!

 

Love this car. Really turned out great!
