wow... glad you guys are ok...

I had a bias come apart once on my caddy convert-
the tread came off like a retread and flapped around beating the quarter panel till it was totally wrecked...

happened so fast from the time I heard the first slap I slammed on the brakes and pulled over...

    too late.

were you and joyo hauling a trailer?

glad you guys are back in the saddle...

    DOC you RULE.

I know the feeling... Here is a pic of when I went through the same thing. Luckily the tire and wheel shoved up in the wheelwell, and scrubbed me to a stop.

I went through the routine checks before leaving on a long trip, check all fluids, tighten all belts, check lug nuts etc. I was a couple hours into my trip to Indy, when all hell broke loose, at about 65 mph. Nobody was hurt, I was able to get it stopped, and it made for quite a spectacle on the side of I-69... I even got to meet Denise (HRLC) for the first time, she was one of the many that stopped to volunteer some assistance. -Joe

    Doc is the man.

    Ryan is also the man.

To me the cool thing is that the HAMB is full of people who would do what Doc has done be it Ryan, or anybody else, on the side of the road.

    Hot Rodders rule!

Nice driving slick, make sure to buy a lottery ticket, your lucks in this week. Glad no ones hurt.
Best you ditch the other studs and buy new ones all round, hate it to happen again.

Good to know you are OK.

I had the wheel studs break off on my 56 chev on one of the front wheels.
I heard them break and front got a little weird, but I was able to stop the car without the wheel coming off. only one stud and lug left. I was on a residential side street, so not going very fast.

Damn that sucks! It’s a good thing that everyone was O.K. and the only casualty was your drawers:D. If you need help getting your car back on the road it would be my pleasure to help and I am in Cincinnati, OH.

The HAMB is a great forum for getting answers and sharing knokwledge, but at times like these, I guess you realize it's much more than tech articles and pictures of cool cars...it's friends willing to go out of their way to help when another friend is in need. It sounds like Doc is a man of action. Glad that this chapter has a happy ending and everybody was ok.

hopefully it wasn't a wheel spacer issue.

    I hate those things.

I tore up a freshly painted HellCamino due to them and loose lugs. :(

If you are concerned with the build, it might be time for a complete and thurough inspection front to back.
