Attended the very last "Shades of the Past" show in Sevierville TN today...their 39th and final show. Over 2,000 cars were registered and the place was mobbed with folks. For the last 10 years or so Shades has been held at Dollywood Splash Country. Apparently, Dollywood chose not to renew the lease agreement with the club that runs Shades and the club has decided not to continue the show. It is a real shame as this was a super event for hot rod, custom/classic car enthusiasts. We remain hopeful that someone will step up and keep this event going. Sharing a few pics:

  9. One of the reasons was that another water park in town will be open the month of September next year.
Splash decided that it would stay open also.
Uh, so why not have it the first week in October?
Another reason that I can totally comprehend is that some of the older members just didn’t have the steam to go another round.
Who knows, maybe there’s a rabbit in the hat somewhere. Hope so.
