Last cover for this evening and I think it is only fitting that it should feature a '32.

Here's a neat cover. No I didn't photochop the Mercury wagon. It was built in the US a while back.

I came across this old magazine the other day. Got to wondering if that coupe was actually a hot rod being built here in Australia. Over the years you hear things, mostly just rumors; that never turn into anything. I remember many years ago hearing of an under construction chopped and channeled 5W in this area.
For the short time that Tom lived down here, I travelled a bit on the back roads around Tyers and I am sure I passed a building that looked very much like the one in the background on this cover. I may need to get out and do a bit of digging.
Unless of course Tom maybe had stumbled on gold in them thar hills.

You would think I would have run out of '32s to use on these covers.

Got an e-mail from' The Crankster Kids' this morning. They decided to show the old man how it's done. They found this A coupe and made it look like it should. They mentioned something about giving it to their mum for Christmas.
Asked me if I could get it in a magazine.

Here's another cover that has a bit of history relating to my 5W and 3W.
From memory, someone elses! I drank a little bit to much that night.

Another trip down Tom's recent memory lane. Cruising the Valley into a couple of hot rod coupes.

So I am sitting here in the executive office ( the garage ) of 'The magazine Of the Mind Publishing Company, when the company phone rings. Damn, that phone never rings. People very seldom respond to the great things that this company does. So I cautiously picked up the phone ( you know it could be someone who may own some of the images we make use of in our businesses? ). As it turns out it's Spencer T from the South West Speed Shop. It seems some guy came in wanting an ' A' coupe lowered and chopped. Spencer T said he would like to help, but he and his brother Jude are extremely busy working on a customer's hot rod that needs to be finished for the Port Fairy rod run. Spencer T says let me make a call. Which was the call to me, asking if I new anyone that could get this guy's coupe done before Christmas. So I said I reckon The Crankster Kids at The North East Hot Rod Company might be worth a try. I said they are good guys and have some great mentors watching over their shoulders ( although I can't remember who they would be?). So long story short The North East Hot Rod Company got the job and a while later, their second magazine cover.

This cover takes over the Top Spot, in my opinion.

My goodness. Due to the unprecedented response ( in this business one needs to build up the hype) to that Motor Trend cover. Well 2 people wrote to say they liked it. I have had to go out into the field and track down the very old and rare magazine that ran a color image of that channeled 5W on the cover. Don't ever say we don't at 'The Magazine Of The Mind Publishing Company' put in the hard yards to come through for our dedicated (?) reading public. Without further ado, below is that said magazine.
