Pretty much all farm tractors had shutters of some kind until about1950 when thermostats became reliable.

That should be Jim's next theme for next year....the Hansen brothers from the movie slapshot. They could pull it off.

Been another long day. The car is running fine. We changed the fuel pump in the morning, now it doesn't leak. Been adding water pretty often, seems to lose about a gallon an hour still. We have been on the freeway a few times, but mostly driving the two lanes, trying to be on old 66 when we can. It just takes forever to cover any miles, with the stop and go and all the checkpoints and keeping fluids in the car. But it's fun, and we are racking up those highly valuable rally points. They demonstrate our total stupidity. FB_IMG_1540771345562.jpeg IMG_20181028_161942.jpeg

Not a bad performance for a Bone Yard Taxi...
Nice to see the flag being flown for flathead Cadillac/LaSalle engines.

I was thinking about the water pump last night while trying to get to sleep, and decided it might just not have enough grease in it. So I gave the grease gun a bunch of extra squirts this morning. And it stopped leaking water.

    Well keep on truckin.

    Finally found enough gas IMG_20181029_075401.jpeg

Heading south of El Reno it gets harder to find the old road. Oklahoma doesn't maintain it very well and I think they don't want to admit it. Car is still doing ok.gets up to 190 degrees on the little runs we did in the freeway, looking for the mother road. But when we slow down it runs about 180.it's warmer outside today.

Had to replace the 5 month old brake light switch. Modern crap.
