I just wanted to share with you a photograph that is out of my Uncle's collection. The roadster was purchased in Oklahoma City as a rolling chassis. By 1956 My uncle and his friends put life back into the roadster and were cruising the streets of Shawnee, Oklahoma. Previously the roadster was built by Keith Landrigan and was on the cover of the Hot Rod Magazines second issue. These last two photos were pulled off of the internet. I found them while researching the old Hot Rod. -Charlie
Ultra Special that is. Is that Hotrods first issue. I'm either going to look dumb here or smart by saying that looks like a Cadillac engine. Very heavy and ultra cool. Thanks for sharing this Charlie. Does the car still remain with your uncle?
Awesome great pic. The biggest question does it survive & is it still in the family? If it does that is the oldest surviving HRM cover car.
The whereabouts of this roadster are currently unknown. Not long after the Dec 56 picture the Roadster was involved in a pretty substantial crash due to a front tire failure at speed. The body was saveable and sold to a local wrecking yard.
I'd like to see the pics too...I can't remember it either... https://kustomrama.com/wiki/Keith_Landrigan's_1932_Ford ...this may be it... @4psi...Hope all is well...Any chance you could re-edit your posts and renew the pics that have been redx'd
...Thanks @lurker mick......No arms hanging out the side on this one... Belly or Bicep burners I'm sure one would learn very quickly...
@Dan MacPherson I have posted a couple of pics and in true Hamb fashion Hambers come to the rescue to help and confirm...Thanks again @lurker mick... Flathead Caddy Powered Hotrods really stand out amongst the crowd...and do leave a mark indeed... https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/the-caddy-flattie-hot-rods.830010/ ...Heres an old thread celebrating the Flathead Cad with more greatness including I believe the Landrigan Roadster... Don't let the redx's bother you as there is plenty if images remaining with links and cool history...
Keith Landrigan was my great uncle. I have that issue and some autographed books. If that car still exists somewhere, I’d love to buy it and get it back in the family.
