Projects The "Keep on Truckin' " '34 Chevy Build

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by cactus1, Jun 16, 2009.

  1. One of the things that was keeping me from starting this was that I did not have a glass channel for the passenger door. Rather than start a fruitless hunt to find one, I decided to try to make a copy (mirror image rather) of the one I have for the driver's side.

I blunted a chisel and smashed, hammered, and filed a "V" to catch the regulator. I cut the other side off so the glass could slide in.

I was hoping to get a reflection of that Righteous Beard in the glass. Little disappointed but ultimately impressed with the work. Hustler never stops his hustle and this things keeps getting better!

Love it . Ya gotta be nuts or have a big set to build Chevy's . Not sure about myself but had a 33 chevy bobber truck ,and now have a 34 coupe ,must be a gluton for punishment . But at least easy to find in a parking lot full of Fords .

  22. Thanks party people!
Here's more. I have three of four door check strap brackets so I decided to try to make one more as I was unable to find anything close. The pics make it look bigger than the originals, but it's pretty close actually.

  25. Thanks Timmer!
The weather is starting to turn here so she's probably in for the winter. I need to get the driver's door restructured and then it's on to door skins and the like.

Ahhh, parking the cars for the winter. I remember those days. I'm hoping to take mine out for it's first drive Christmas Eve and begin a beautiful friendship between me and the Wizard.

  27. Thanks Ffejery! And thanks for not rubbing it in that the truck will be down for a couple months for the winter... Oh wait, you did! The beard is sad now, ha!

Remember we want video when/ if the Wizard finally moves on its own!:D
