What kind of brake drums are these front brakes? They looks like the ones that were under the '37 chevy I have apart.

Wow those images suck... I'm hopped up on pain pills and apparently not in the condition to use a camera.

Thanks for the video, I appreciate being able to see all the little details a focused photo might leave hidden in the background

Insane build! The MT drums I am using look like those, with BASS self energizing backing plates. Thank you for sharing this project.

I need to point out that the grill center bar material was given to me by Darryl Hollenbeck (yes, THE AMBR winner). I did not know Darryl at all and took a chance on contacting him thru Facebook to ask where he got the material for his center bar... and he just gave me a piece. He and Terri are such nice people. Credit where credit is due.

Oh, and thanks for the photos and video Ryan. Your narration skills drop off a bit when you are on pain meds but I got a chuckle out of you asking Kieth "who's the dude that painted this thing?' Lance Nguyen did the paint. He is a young up and comer in Austin and he has done a great job on my coupe. Thank Lance!!

I do know, however, that the car is on the ground now...

I'm having a really hard time concentrating on my work today after seeing these photos. It's like having a naked chick standing right out side my window and trying not to look at her. I just want to stare.

  23. Hi John,
After Tania and I visited you guys we talked about how I had to get back on the HAMB again. I'm looking forward to reading back through this and your road trips. The coupe is looking UNREAL!
    Thanks,
    Greg & Tania

Awesome build, don't bother making the script on the hubcaps parallel to the ground, they won't, or better not stay that way long! :)

    Greg and Tania,

So fun to have you at the Y-not for a stay. I'm pretty excited about this car. It has been over a decade of daydreaming about it and now I'm close to driving it.

Looks so smokin', can we get a shot on the ground without the deluxe caps on the wheels?

I love that the Rex Rods logo is in so many of the build photos. I especially like the ones like this (above post) that have the logo as a reflection in the photo. Another one I liked was from the day the gauges went in and Keith's logo on his work shirt was visible in the domed glass lens. Nice work Ryan.
