Me, 57Joe, and Solomi (We convinced Sal to join and lurk, he also might be moving to Detriot) left NJ around 11:15 Thurs night. 8:30 Friday morning we were in Detriot eating a Coney Island breakfast. Met up with NitroFC who hooked us up with some passes so we could get in early and snap off some photos before the crowds rolled in. We got more car show than we could handle and still didn't see it all. Got to touch base with old HAMBers and meet some new ones at the Meet and Greets. Friday night we had a great pizza dinner with all the HAMBers and then headed off for some extra curricular activites and to meet up with Chopolds whos plane got delayed 2 hours in Newark. Denise was kind enough to allow us to stay at her house for the wknd, however by the time we got in Fri night, ervryone was asleep. Ooops. So we curled up on her kitchen floor and hoped to not get stepped on. Saturday we got even more Autorama and more HAMBers. Headed to Atwater Block Brewery for some lunch and great beer. Picked up our supply to smuggle back into Jersey. Then we headed over to Joe Louis Arena to catch a Red Wings game in which they got blown out, 8-2. Then back to Denise's for the Luau. Met even more HAMBers and had HAMB crack, which is amazing. This night we got upgraded to the floor at Denise's parents house who were out of town. Sal and Joe were smart enough to bring blankets, but I was not, so Hotdamn was kind enough to tuck me in for the night. Woke up and hit the highway and after 10 hours of driving through a downpour, we made it home. Work today was a nightmare and now I'm going to sleep. We had an even beter time than last year (which I didn't think was possible) and got to pack more stuff into the same amount of time. It was great to meet and talk with all of you and already we can't wait until next year. Here's just a few of the pics I snapped. A HUGE thanks goes out to Denise for not only hosting the Luau and keeping us all in line, but catering to our every need and allowing us to stay over at her house.
The pleasure was mine sweetie. You Jersey boys are a blast to hang out with. I think you might have me convinced I need to add Lead East to my event schedule this year.
I remember walking to the bathroom at about 4 AM and seeing 3 dudes on the kitchen floor. And 57 Fomopar was just passed out face down on the hard wood floor...literally his face and nose was completely flat on the floor without a pillow or anything. WTF!! it was hilarious!
Man it was great hanging out with you guys (even though you were riding around in a Honda...lol had to bust your balls)..hope to see you soon. Take care
haha "well armed" it was! it was good meeting you guys, had a blast hanging out with all of you. if your ever in the south hit us up, we'll have your back....and a place to stay.
Guess you aren't telling any tales about the "extracurricular activities", huh? Detroit's always a blast, just really sorry I missed Denise's party. We were dragging ass to get back on the plane Sunday morning! We need to stay longer next time. Did our beer, and complimentary glasses make it back home safely???????? We bought so much beer at Atwater brewpub, the manager drove us back to the hotel, and the hockey game himself!!!!!!!!!!!! How's "Wolverine"?
Hahah, I think the funniest thing was like 10 c'clock in the morning seeing a couple of rockabilly esq. guys with Glocks hangin out of the back of there jeans. Weird. For the record, a peacoat does not make a comfortable pillow, its kinda scratchy. And I thank you guys for not steppin on us. The beer and glasses made it home, though we drank most of our stash Sat night. I think Vigril and Big Chief enjoyed it and will be joining us for our adventure to Atwater next year. What crazy cabby will we get next year1?!?!?
Ha, Wolverine is doing just fine. He's cleaning the internet porn off of my buddy's computer as we speak, the computer crashed and we have a trial tomorrow. We're spreading the word about Bouzouki's, I bet next year half of the Autorama is going to show up. Me and Billy have decided we're gonna try to get a car together for next year. Maybe my 57 or his 63. The hardwood floor isn't half as bad as you may expect, except for when I rolled over on my wallet. That kinda hurt
