Ryan submitted a new blog post: The Jalopy Journal #3 at C-Boys Continue reading the Original Blog Post
My pal Ken (slick50) has offered to get the book for me while he is at the round up,interesting the release is on my birthday. HRP
Great to see it being realeased @Ryan! I can't tell you how many times I've read #2 from cover to cover. When is it going to be available to purchase online for those of us that won't be in Austin?
If it's half as good as the last, it's gonna be killer............... any Norwell poster commemorating the release like last year? It's one of the finest in my collection. See 'ya at C-Boys!
Words, words, words,,,, Inside your head they scream - Let me out! But if spoken, they are lost,,, they must be written down.. Quck a pencil stub to write them down before they are gone,, middle of the night you wake up reach for the light and the pad, don't wakeup the partner,,, The computer, is in the next room but it is off! Finally when the words are out and placed into some sence of order you hit send to the printer,,,, But now, it has to go out to the masses, the readers. Indesign, Photoshop, send to the printer, proofs,,, and finally in your hand is your soul. Sell? Money? This is my life and if it wern't for my accountant I'd give it away just to hear,,, ' Hey this is great, you do good work" Thanks, I needed that.......
Ryan, I always love reading your stuff, but I must say you outdid yourself this morning. Great little piece of writing! Of course I can relate to most of it...except the So. American brothel, of course. I've been reading lots of classic L.A. Noir lately (James M. Cain at the moment), and this holds up to that. Now I'll have to see how good the book is. Cheers, Pat Ganahl
Absolute honor to hear that from you Pat... I hope you enjoy the actual story of my hunt in the book as much!
If I can't get ahold of a copy, I will throw a tantrum the likes of which my kid has never imagined...
Sounds like the place outside of Norman the old man & I stayed in last year for the Chickasha Pre-War swap. Looking forward to TJJ #3!
I'll take one. Great piece of writing, but I'm really sorry for all the losses ya'll have suffered. Hope you are all healing, Carp
I hope you all like this book as much as I do…a true labor of love, sweat and tears. See you at the party.
This week is going by sooo slooow. The two weeks before the Roundup, I'm like a kid waiting on Christmas. Can't wait to see the new book..
You've got me hooked, just because of the sneak peak picture, of that 29 Chevrolet! As usual, we know the quality will be first rate, thanks for all you do Ryan!
