I've started my modified project in early 2006, and since then, tons of things has changed.
You can follow all the steps here: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=99260

Some month ago, I've decided to rebuilt the frame of the project, du to some bad weldings, lots of details to change, and some needed modifications, the best way is to rebuilt it to have something better at the end.
So, in November, the new frame was done.

but that was not the only change to come..
In december, after seeing these changes, a friend of me send me an email and say "I have maybe a better body for your modified.."
    A new big change ? Yes !
So, last week end, the body arrived in the shop, and the first try was good !
Big chance, the body was just perfect for the frame, execpt the front crossmember width.
The body is the front part of a Citroen b10-B12 Phaeton, 1924-26.

So, yesterday, we cut the front crossmember (almost 4" !!), to pinch the frame rails. Some very small cuts into the body later (two 2"x1" at the end, two 2"x1" at the front), the body felt just perfectly on the chassis, and a completely new project was born !

So, now, lots of hours of work has been trashed, but for the better.
I'm pretty happy with the result !
There's still a lot of work to be on the road with the modified, but this new start help the motivation !
I will post here the next steps of the progress.

...That you stiffen the chassis by making a loop the same shape as the inside of the cowl . 45mm tube with wall thickness of 3-4mm would make a very stiff frame . That six has a lot of torque and you don't want the chassis changing shape .

A big X wil be done on the frame, to be strong enough, and after welding some inside gussets, the frame will be fully boxed.

Wow. I was thinking single seater when I saw that body. You should hook up with Dodgerodder some time and talk about your projects.

    Looks good...and different

The B10-B12 body is more suited for a track roadster than the C4, that's a change for the better, looks real good...

Damn, that thing rules !! proportions are way better now

dunno why but the new body shapes and its patina makes it look like a "real old racer" from back in the days.

cant wait to see you drive the shit outta that inline 6', will it be ready for
    Weil am Rhein ??

More update, the steering system is working now, thanks to a NOS WWII Jeep steering box & column.
Need now to do a column drop mount, the thing you can see on the picture is just here to have the steering working during the process.
I've also found a dashboard, I just need to do 2 extension on both sides.

yes, you're closer than some other Hambers ! :)

some change again on the modified.
I will change the rear crossmember & spring, for a model A set.
I just found the set, too bad it wasn't here when I redo the frame !
So, next step, some cutting, grinding & welding, again !

Here the crossmember sitting on the frame to see how it can be...better for sure !

I didn't think it would be possible to build something cooler than your first version, but you did it. Tres bien.

    some work yesterday.
Another big change, the rear crossmember.
We put a Model a crossmember and his spring.
The crossmember will be later gusseted, like on a real A frame, and some fake rivets will be added.

We cut the rear part of the rails

    and weld the crossmember

Then, old crossmember cutted, we done some new perches, but not finished yet. Shackles angle are not yet good, we use the same perch distance than original A, but this car is lighter. We will remowe some leaf of the spring and it will be ok.

It looks great, the model A crossmember was a good idea. It's really coming together, again!
