What is the windshield frame from? It's square, when stock A's are round.

  2. The headers tell the story of engine having been run up. :)

    Like your build, well done!

Yea, so it’s a little bit of a mystery.

It was on the Brookville body when I bought it. Except, it was original height.

As far as where it mounts to the stanchions it’s def 28/29 but it’s made more like the style of a ‘32. It’s made really, really nice too, it has all the channels and stuff for the gasket, etc. it’s just square instead of round.

I just had fellow HAMB’r Steelsmith chop it down to around 6” total and then I chrome plated it.

I’m glad though, because people have definitely been asking me about it. Which is cool, just a little bit different.

Just a couple of odds and ends photos from earlier this morning.

I tried my hand at wire lacing for the first time, I actually enjoyed it once I got going. I may redo here soon to try to make it a little cleaner.

Also pictured is my lettered fuel tank and my Brian Bass fuse block.

Lacing looks great even if it was a first time effort. Are you not worried about crossfiring with the wires in such close proximity to each other?

Well, it was definitely a thought. At some of the bigger hot rods shows this year I’ve ran across a few cars setup like this and they haven’t had any issues. I also have a friend who didn’t run in to any problems on his.

One side of the argument about lacing your plug wires thinks that with these newer modern wires, it’s not an issue like it was on the older ignitions. This is a Pertronix distributor, not points.

Either way - I figure I like it enough to try it, and it worst comes to worst - I will explore another avenue. But, I’ll keep you guys updated on what happens. I have had the car running quite a few times with no issues yet.

    Absolutely beautiful hot rod !
Fantastic colours, especially with the black chassis.
Thanks for sharing your story with us.

Progress has been slow lately with work and family stuff. I am currently working on getting the seat mounted in, plumbing the fuel tank, and I picked up this awesome battery box from O’Brien Truckers.

Wrapped up so many loose ends this afternoon.

The steering is pretty much complete, just need to set the toe and tighten the pitman arm. Got small things like the trunk latch, throttle cable, oil press gauge, coolant temp gauge installed. Pretty much just need to finish up a few small things on the fuel delivery side, wire it, and do something for a seat bracket - and then I’m rolling.

Been making serious progress in my spare time. We are only six days away from moving into a new house. All that is really left is fabricating a seat bracket, running a few more wires/loom, and setting the toe (looks like I’ll need to trim down a tie rod some because I’m still out and I’m out of adjustment.

Just wanted to say thanks for all of the support and people following my build on here and on Instagram. It definitely keeps me going at times. I’m ready for Spring!

That short little upright windshield sure makes it look like a jaunty Stroker McGurk roadster. Classic.

Just a little update, the seat bracket is one of the final things left before it’s a driving car down the road. I’ve been working with a friend of my father in laws, who is a great fabricator and he made me up a bracket (and it looks great too). Still have a little more to go on the actual frame part that you won’t see, but here are some pictures of the part that will be exposed to the interior. Nice little filler panel.

That is going to be an "Award winning" interior. Of course the whole car is awesome too.

Well, I can’t say the car is finished - because they are never finished. Still a few things I’d like to do on it throughout the next year BUT it’s a running, driving, stopping car that is ready to cruise when the weather is nice.

Setting it up at Indy’s World of Wheels car show this weekend. Curious to see what’s people think of it.
