Tweaked some stuff this weekend based off of what we heard and saw last weekend on the first drive. We also finally put the tag on.

Looks great that is one hell of a Team "The Helmuth Brothers"

  5. I was just fitting the grill shell lacing to the 32 shell on my A and noticed you guys ran the lace all the way over in one piece, rather that doing it in two halves leaving the raised portion right in the center of the shell (hood mount, I think). You're not going to run a hood, I guess. It looks better run in one piece like you did.

Exactly. Did the cowl the same way. Can't run a hood on my car since the cowl is channeled a bit and the shell is stock height. It would be on an angle. I think it looks way cleaner when the lace is one piece of you don't have a hood.

Not many updates. Just waiting for the seat to be upholstered next week. Took it out for a spin yesterday while sitting on some Canoe seats. Fine tuning some things still but nothing major.

We got the seat back today. Couldn't have been happier with the results. We used the original seat frame for the car with a dark brown vinyl. Next up we'll be making some mounts for it.

Man, that came out nice ! Did you use a plywood base on the original seat frame ? Saved my seat, thinking of using it after seeing your's. Any other pics or details on the seat ? Thanks, love your coupe

Thanks!! It's the original seat 100%. Down to the wood. Check back a page I think I posted bare photos of it. All I did was swap out the metal springs out for foam.

Sorry I never posted it. Here's the bare seat before we had it upholstered.

Wrapped up an amazing weekend a few minutes ago. Installed the seat yesterday and have been out driving this thing ever since. This morning we went to a local show then finally brought the car back home. I'll be able to fine tune and clean the car after work on weeknights now instead of waiting for each weekend so that's a huge relief. It's been an absolute blast driving this thing. It's exactly what I wanted, and a dream come true. 5 years in the making. It's been a hell of a ride and an experience we'll never forget. It definitely won't be the last build out of our garage. Now it's time for a drink.

It's been a long ride following this from the beginning and your team hit it out of the park.

Thanks a lot Mikey! We won't be at York this year. We have some family stuff going on that weekend, so I'll probably only have time to hit a local show. The following weekend is TROG, which we'll be at for sure with the A's.

  30. It's been one of my favorite builds here.
    Congrats!
All those hours and work pays off,
Mine took 3 years, but like you said,
it was exactly what I wanted when it was done.
