Robert Hamke sent some pictures of his Dads car he's restoring http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=372165 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=381580 I thought I would share them Back from the Media Blasters http://www.kodakgallery.com:80/Shar...mail-_-site_share-_-core-_-view_photos_button
Thanks for the progress pics Steve. It's good they took alot of them. It really helps when you're trying to put things back together. The frame looks a little twisted, nothing they can't straighten out. Was the original nose completely gone/destroyed in the crash?
I really have no clue how I missed both these threads before... Trichop, you really did a selfless thing. Big props to you.
Yes, the Frame is twisted from the wreck Robert has it on a "Jig" and has it fixed He sent me pictures ,but I'm having trouble downloading them We're still working on getting the "Nose" from a previous owner A previous owner is still pissed that he didn't get to buy the car back Robert has about 30 pictures of the nose He said if he has to,he can make it He plans on having the car done for Bonneville 2011 He wants to try and turn the same time (149 mph) on the 60th aniversary of when his Dad ran the car in 1951 I'll try and get more pictures http://www.kodakgallery.com:80/Shar...email-_-site_share-_-core-_-view_photos_album
That's great AND ambitious! Best of luck to Robert! Can't wait to see more progress. Too bad about the other guy and his feelings, maybe he'll realize the car is in good hands and he's the son of the guy who built it, what could be better than that?
Thanks for the update, this was a special HAMB find, sale and now restoration. Please keep us updated with progress reports and photos.
