Painted the doors and trunk. Shop line single stage black . It layed down nice with very little texture but got a few dirt nibs. No problem though , I'm going to color sand and buff. Triple black is the new flat black! 20220212_180250.jpg

Awesome progress, especially being the dead of winter! Very inspirational! Black is the most unforgiving but it looks like you are nailing it. Great work!

I had to walk away from the paint or I will touch something and f it up
I rigged the e brake. I made a bracket to go on the t5 and used a Lokar handle. I wanted to use an original looking handle but couldn't find anythong suitable. I was thinking about making one but if I focus on what's important I can get it done sooner. 20220214_133811.jpg 20220214_133756.jpg

@Jethro did you pain the doors lying down or did you hang them? If the latter, can you show me how you hung them? I am getting ready to paint my PU and I need to hang my doors on something.

Billy , I painted them on a stand flat. I painted the back , waited a couple days then painted the front. I've hung doors before from a 1/8 aircraft cable that I strung across my shop. I used s hooks in the hinge holes . The problem for me doing it that way is getting even coverage on the hinge side and the latch side. I'm either standing on my tippy toes or hunching down spraying up at the edge. I like doing it on the flat because A - I can see better because the light is better and B - less chance for runs and I can lay it on a little heavier. I'm a novice so I'm sure some of the more experienced painters will have some good tips. There was a thread a while back about painting fixtures that had some good advice.

Steering wheel fresh out of the mold. I did a tech piece years ago how to make a banjo. Still have to fill some pits and sand and prime and paint. Weather is getting nicer . paint coming soon! 20220227_141836.jpg 20220227_141823.jpg 20211201_104724.jpg 20211201_104733.jpg 20211201_104752.jpg

Yeah! , Everglass is something I know. I tried an epoxy resin once and it ran out of the mold and F***ed up a couple days work making the mold. I have an old wheel I made 15 years ago that is still in decent shape , no cracks. There's probably a better material to use but Everglass gives me more predictable results.

Turned out pretty good. A few small sags that can be polished out

Got most of the wet sanding and polishing done. Still need to fix a few boo boo's but good enough for now. Put the doors back on and made some nice 3m door latches . Ordered the glass and some other shiny bits and pieces. It's coming together......gonna need some tuning though, gotta get it on the road first. 20220427_132253.jpg 20220427_132341.jpg 20220427_132403.jpg 20220427_132303.jpg
