All of the bodies were unique to the brand, especially in the rear fender details. Pontiac, Chevy and Olds shared very similar bodies, but Buick’s were larger. There is the bigger Olds 98... I’ll have to dig up some photos and see how they compare.
Here's my 50 Pontiac fastback. Straight 8 with three on the tree. Just got the motor running last week, for the first time in almost 40 years. Now it's on to the transmission and brakes.
ya know, that looks like it’s got Voodoo Larry’s fingerprints all over it. Figuratively speaking of course. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Just vacuum wipers, had the other stuff that worked very well but I wanted to have many miles of hopefully trouble free driving. Car has 30,000 miles on it. Interior is all original, with NOS seat covers on beautiful original seats. The old 6 and powerglide ran as good as it could but not much power. Of course no rust. It was in a collection for many years.
Here’s my 49 Dodge but it’s almost a fastback. Wish I had a better picture. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
...Friends my way...Don built his Mercruiser 250 powered Mild Custom all himself over 10 years...he's rightfully proud of it...I used his Fleetline in the New Logo for the Club this way... Great Thread this is @Jive-Bomber...these are such an awesome body style...
For 1949 Cadillac, Buick Roadmaster, Buick Super, and Olds 98 all shared the same body from the cowl back. Olds 88, Pontiac, and Chevrolet all shared the same body from the cowl back.
Didn't read all of this but looked at the photos. I have never seen one of these in person but found this on the internet.

Uhh, I have the greatest respect for the "Rikster", but I wouldn't have made that particular change. Then again, I've been told many times that I'm not a "Custom Guy".
That's a great way to make a fastback, forgotten...I'm surprised Rikster didn't exploit that feature...it's a beauty though...
https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...y-on-who-built-this-50-chevy-fastback.872015/ ...I wonder if this ever got done...it was coming along...
My 46 Olds 76 (B body), STILL a work in progress. OEM 2-tone colour scheme, Pawnee beige over New Ivory
I screwed up and wrote Special when I was thinking Super. I corrected my original post. The Special shares nothing with the Buick Roadmaster and Super bodies.
