Great story and awesome end result! Having the right people to help out in a pinch is awesome but having them be your closest friends what makes the story like you said. Those dudes are immeasurably valuable and you're definitely blessed to have each other in your lives.

One question? Why was your engine painted SBC orange prior to the green? Who does that? The reason I ask is my flathead is painted that very same color!!!!

    Glad to see you back!!

That picture..."A boy and his car late at night" is sooo cool. If that doesn't stir your soul you are probably dead.

Thanks for the road trip. You are a lucky man to have such good pals. This hobby is so much more than old cars and shows. 4000 miles just to rebuild an old flathead doesn't make sense on the surface but it's priceless in real life. 10 days that will last forever in your memory. Thanks for letting us peek in.

Excellent write-up, takes us all there with you guys! Why did the engine go down in the first place? I think I missed that.

That's a great story and interesting to read with the morning coffee this morning. It's funny how some guys think that a 50 mile jaunt to the other end of the county is too far to go and you three don't bat an eye at making a 2000 mile run and taking ten days to accomplish what you want to.

    Cool! Thanks for the story.
Watching Keith rebuild a flatty is worth any 4000 mile trip. I wish I could hang out in that garage for a year. Change your alternator RyAN.. ha! :)

I absolutely love the way that car sits. Can anybody able to tell us something about the chassis and drive train?

All I can say is, bravo! What an adventure. Being on the road, rebuilding the flathead,... sounds too good to be true!

Awesome adventure Ryan. It's hard to describe these kinds of adventures to an outsider, they just don't seem to understand why car guys like all of us here look forward to an opprotunity like this. They see it as a waste of time or a hardship they would never want to experience.

Good to hear that everything came to a happy ending. I would be so livid over those lifters, there would be some folks holding out in the deep woods trembling in fear.

For a second when I saw pic number 17 as a thumbnail I thought crazy they surfed while they were there too! that hood sure looked like the nose of a board from a distance. guess I miss the Ocean more than I thought.

Incredible feat fella's cant wait to see it in person next time I'm in the Drip!!!

And is that why Silva is always smiling cause he knows he farted and nobody else does???
