The Final Battle (determine the noise)

Here is where I am at with the 56. I have figured out the light tapping is my rocker arms/lifters. There is a heavier/deeper noise that I am thinking is exhaust but am not sure. Can anyone get an idea from this video?

Have you checked oil pressure with a mechincal gauge? any history on the engine?

 

I heard loose rockers, I didn't hear anything else.

 

Rockers or Wrist pins.. Are the Rocker arms adj on those?

 

Non-adjustable. I have torqwued them to spec and locked them in but they still clatter some. I have not checked the oil pressure other than my gauge reading.

 

Take a length of fuel line or garden hose, stick one end to your ear, and probe the other end down around the exhaust manifolds. If it's an exhaust leak, you'll be able to zero in on it pretty quickly. It sounds mechanical to me.
