  2. OK, as dirty as your old motor got, why not just leave the new one black, leave the pan/timing cover alone instead of installing leaky Chinese chrome shit that no-one can see, stop making videos and get back to work?:p. Customs ain't about the engine. The hood should stay down when on display to show the great lines of a car;). Oh, go get em Alex. You and your crew can get ur done. STUGOTS!

Prayers for you Alex. Your on the right track. I wouldn't worry much about that oil pressure untill you got it in and runnning its hard to be for sure what pressure it will run at. On nmost of the motors I have primed like that 30psi is all I get but once it is running and spinning I get 50 or more at start up. Keep your head up and get that fuker going

  6. Looks great. But, I would've painted the pan and timing cover too. The pan's underneath the car, never to be seen, and the water pump pretty much hides the timing cover

You have a good crew over there Al so you should have that fucker screamin soon..
and How come I dont see pinstriping on that motor??

  9. I've never gotten over 30-40 lbs of oil pressure when priming a dry motor with a electric drill. Does that make all my motors bad?

and i agree with the cheap ass chrome stuff. all it does do is leak. so shiny no more!!!!!! and your motor paint job is way nicer than alot of folks real car paint jobs.

Man you better hurry!!!!!!Round Up is coming fast!!!!That car is bad ass so I hope you can make it!!!!Can't wait to see it in person.Good Luck!!!!!!!!!

  13. I see response indicating no oil to top on priming? Have someone rotate the crank while priming. DO NOT USE BALANCER BOLT FOR THIS! Very few oil passages line up in just one position of the short block. That's why priming WITHOUT rotating only oils a SMALL percent

Hey Ian, just scuff it with some scotchbrite. Then some wax and grease remover, and shoot it.

I think when priming you need a tool or an old distributor to get oil to both banks. You probably know that. Also the Fram filter has a great thread by Pirate Darryl that has proof of why they are good only for paper holders. I would not use a Fram filter for any engine I wanted to keep, heck even for a demo derby car for that matter.

 pull it apart and take the block plugs out and steam clean it!!! If you label and keep all the bearings sorted you can just re-assemble it all back in no problem. Soak the shit in mineral spirits and air-hose it out real good, bet you got burnt oil pluggin it up or your oil pump took a dump... maybe your pushrods are just plugged
