THE LATE-ELDEN TITUS SET THE World of Rods & Kustoms into a spin when he debuted his fantasitic, futuristic, VOODOO SPIDER ! Sadly, Elden passed away in the Fall of 2008 just when his long-running career was climbing to new heights.

Elden was a good friend to both, myself, and all those he came in contact with. In the first Interview we did in July, 2006 at the KKOA Leadsled in Salina, Kansas, with Elden, and his brother, KKOA Founding President JERRY TITUS, we covered many subjects, but toward the end of the Interview I wanted to know where Elden's original concept of building the Voodoo Spider had come from....and he didn't disappoint me !

This part of our July 29th, 2006 Interview has never aired before . It's brief, but it's very important as, for the first time, many of you will be able to hear Elden & Jerry discuss their early days working with the Legendary DARRY STARBIRD, PLUS, hear Elden explain the origin of one of his most unique creations: THE VOODOO SPIDER !

The 2013 KKOA Leadsled is coming up, and I wanted to Post this in honor of Elden...as the Salina show was always his favorite. Simply Click-On-Here to Listen: http://www.legends.thewwbc.net/gpage186.html

he was a great guy, got to work with him on some of his stuff. No matter what he was looking at he was always able to say something good to the builder, regardless of what the build was.

    yblock292,

Thanks for the first-hand words about this real Pro. You're right: Elden & I looked at many cars together through the years, and he could always compliment the builder on whatever was kool about their car.

He was a mild mannered guy, chose his words carefully, and was one of the most faithful friends you could have...even after he became ill.

The Titus brothers did a 60`s custom Lincoln years ago that I realy liked. Years ago at a KKOA event in Kansas City I showed Jerry a picture of a radical custom project that I have been building and he said get it done and bring it to the shows. Its been years since that conversation and I say every year that I should get it done and take it to Salina but have never found the time. Customs are a blast but they are hard to pay the bills with. Life can be tough.Maybe next year !

    Kan Kustom...

You're right ! That was a 4 Door 60's Lincoln...it was at Starbird's Museum at one time. Elden did a super job on that, and I think Jerry Weesner did a feature on it in an Issue of Custom Rodder.

Would love to see you finish that project and bring it to Salina !

    Thanks again,
