  1. Well of course it's an historical object NOW... after it won a Bronze Medal at the 2016 LeMons Olympics.

:D Hi Jim.Thanks for the ride along. And by the way,YOU seem to be having more fun than the law allows for even a group of 10 friends:p:rolleyes:.

  3. i would like to argue the point that bronze medals get a bad rap. even in the olympics they talk about gold and silver. i like bronze better........it is man made..........a craftsman should be proud of bronze.

I enjoyed the ride, thanks. I brought a trailer home one time 600 miles with a bad hub that the bearing had spun in. I cut a strip of pop can aluminum to make about 2 wraps and put it inside the hub and knocked in the bearing. It not only came home, but when I tried to get a hub I couldn't find the right one, so I pulled it off for a look see and everything looked happy. I just put it back together and ran it that way a couple years til I sold the trailer. I was conscientious enough to tell the new owner about it, ha,ha. He didn't seem to care.

I was thinking about trying to come up with some idea like that, but didn't get that far....my brain was fried from a week of this stuff. It would work great.

Thanks for sharing the trip! Enjoyed the ride along
We should all pile in an old beater and road trip now and then just to get perspective.

Definitely! My brother said it's the most fun road trip he's ever been on...and he's been on quite a few. Paying for gas and hotel rooms is the hard part, of course.

Ill be honest, if you look up similar edsels, they fetch more than your reserve price. I still think it's a sweet ride. If I had the extra dough I'd consider it.

I don't know, it seems like just normal stuff, to me. What I don't get, is why everyone else sits on their ass and doesn't get out and have some fun.

  18. Seldom will you see this kind of honesty and disclosure on Ebay...

"I lowered the reserve, so be careful bidding...if you are high bidder and reserve is met, you bought it."

    You've been warned! :p

One of my faults, is my honesty. I could never be a politician, or a salesman.

  20. I think it's the whip antenna that did it for me. Haven't seen the like since the days of Broderick Crawford and Highway Patrol.

On one of those lonely California roads, we were passed by a Crown Vic with an identical antenna! even mounted in the same place. I guess I haven't noticed them, until I drove a car with one.

  22. I see in the eBay description there is no mention of that fine audio system, bet you could git an extra 10% if you included the ABBA anthology.

    Just sayin

I'm having fun right now alright, its just of a different sort, I am on the tail end of a 5 week trip to Vietnam, that never fails to be interesting. But I have to admit, this thread has punched my buttons, it reminds me of some of the road trips I did when I was a teenager, and not because of the Abba 8 tracks:D.
I have promised a road trip to Bonneville to my daughter when I finish my '39 convert, but honestly, thats small potatoes compared to this.

The first time I visited the salt was in 2002, took the kids on a trip to Canada, we stopped on the way back. in wife's late model truck. Next one was 2008 in the 87 Suburban, took oldest son, hung out with Freiburger and Turk for a few days. That was really neat. Then went in my 55, then in my 57 Suburban, by myself. Both of those were also fun trips. Having a kid along makes it special, though
