I'm currently working on new seat covers for my Henry J. I picked up the red metal flake vinyl yesterday. Time to bump this thread back to the top. I will post pictures when it is completed.

    Let's see some more

here is a B/gas 39 chevy called Obsession that used an injected 426 Wedge for power. interior is simple yet sinister...note the "rule stretching" for the mandatory passenger seat

Doc Eiland Shreve Automotive roadster circa 1959. Pics are from early 80s. In first pic you can see where the guages were, tach missing. You can also see the entire inside of body was skinned and painted. In the second you can see the wheel tubs. The entire interior of body was zolotoned before being skinned.

I think the ones you are referring to are like what was made in the 60s by Cal Automotive. Cal Automotive isn't around anymore, but the seats turn up at swap meets on a rare occasion. Otherwise you can buy new fiberglass seats like what are used in dune buggies, which have also been around a long time. Their size and shape is not too different.

    Cal Automotive.

It's not going to win any awards, and once in a while I blow the dust off of it.

It might not be the right place, but did Gasser rules say anything about interior?
    Rear seat?

Can someone post pics of rollbar with seats mounted to them. So one could see how it was done. This is not the way it's done here.
Was this how it was done or was that more individual?

Early gassers had to be "street legal", with front/rear seats, headliner, safety equipment (wipers, horn, etc, etc). These rules were underwent a major change around '64 and a lot of stuff then got chucked to save weight. My Henry J (post #47 above) still has the rear seat, headliner and upholstery from '59, but the rest got gutted out as rules changed and years went by. Randy Millard (Henrysnephew)

    Hey
    Nice Henry!

I dig the ones with the skinney look-like-a-seat.
When the time comes for my Volvo gasser built, I'm gonna do something like yours or #23.

Home made diamond patern upholstery is my thing.

    Keep'm comming :)
