We got a bunch of stuff back from the platers. The headlights bar, taillight stands and the pitman arm look great. The Alchemy gauge panel is painted and installed now. looks good! Also got a lot done on the motor. Bill brought the intake and carbs up. Of coarse the old intake gasket didn't want to come off...bit both me and Miles. Miles got the plugwires on and I got the carb linkage done. I really like the old braided green wires. The plug boots are pretty cool too. They were a Hershey find. Clark
man that headlight bar is cool, but who has the little hands to get the nuts started ? looks like your ahead of your timeline !! nice work guys!!
Mike Sholley (upholstry guy) wasn't quite ready for the car. We take it up this week. He's really gonna be under the gun. It's a good thing. We found our runner flathead that was already together had no gaskets behind the waterpumps. Good news is the car runs!! Clark
No maiden voyage. Elvis brought us new gaskets saturday. Otherwise it's ready. Hood grill and lights get painted tomorrow. Wheel time??!!! you don't drive these things! Clark
The lil-V8 was supposed to go around Latimore. He'd kill me if I tried to take it around. He did say he was gonna take the Georgetown special for some laps. I'm still cleaning the FCES from last year. It might end up going to Detroit. Clark
No Shamrock will be there! One of the guys may not be able to make it now. His wife started kemo treatments again and now she is sick. Clark
Yeah it sucks....she's fought it 4 times and won. It's taking every penny they have. The kemo pills are costing them about $2700 a month. You should go along with the FCES and the 32 Clark
Clark, I got a call from "Billy Po-Neat" the other morning, he sure sounded happy with the car. He is one of the good guys, and a deserving owner of a well built, cool little coupe. Good luck finishing it up and your trip to Detroit.
The car is in Mike Sholley's hands right now. He'll have the interior done by the time we leave. Clark
The coupe looks Great sitting at the Autorama, Hope you won something and hope you'll post pictures of the back and interior once you get home, Have a safe trip!
the car won "best traditional overall". and the trophy looks awesome to match the car! whoever built them did an awesome job
Here's some finished pics of the car and an interior shot. Mike Sholley did a GREAT job of the interior. Sorry I had to steal pictures to post. We havent had a chance to get any good shots. Clark
Car looked awesome at Cobo. Clark, you were always busy when I came to see ya. Oh well; guess I'll have to finish my T sedan and race ya in the mud next year! Yeah....mud racin' hot rods.
lookin' good, with the 34,you guys made a nice pair of high tops !! i'm guessing you guys had fun ? and did i spot papa bates in the compound ?
I shot that one and didn't even realize it was the same car.... until tonight. Turned out great Clark, and very well deserving of the award. It was my favorite coupe.
Amazing how different the color looks outside compared to under the lights! You guys did a great job and won a well deserved award, congrats!
Hey Clark, The coupe turned out great and the only thing wrong with it is that I don't own it! Good times at Detroit! Looks like that'll be an annual pilgrmage! "You mean there's an upstairs to this place?" is right! Tell Johnny(and you) the beers is on us Labor Day!
I brought this back up for those that got the new Rod and Kulture magazine with this car in it. Someone thought it was a good idea to leave the real builders name out of the story. I think you can figure out what really went on by this thread Clark
