Seth, from reading on flowmeisters COE thread,it appears you need engine mount ideas, also look at the dough boy COE thread to see how he built his engine mount. It was a very clean design.

  2. Hey Seth, any progress?

  3. I've been watching that thread since the beginning, its awesome.
I just need to fab/buy a pair of motor mounts for the engine because it's a bit of a pain in the butt to pull the motor in and out.
Also I want to lower the engine 1 inch or so.
    Your COE is nice too.
    thanks

    Hey man!
    Not too much progress,
    Got a new welder,Hobart 140 a 20lb gas tank with 75/25
Got some new parts From Josh(JF)Thank you Josh, with the help of Javier(Feo).
I will be posting pics soon.
I got a nice coe bumper from Josh and I will have to fab the bumper extensions/mounts and a battery cover step.
Also finally saved enough for an electric fuel pump, wiring kit, radiator and maybe a gas tank.
I'm really hoping to get this thing on the road for LSRU 2014 for the biggest COE caravan.
    thanks.

  4. Cool!
Looking forward to seeing the progress pics!

This might be the most bad ass truck I have ever seen. Subscribed.

Glad to see you changed the front wheel offset, those original wheels were sticking out too far and killing the look. The front fenders look about right with those tires, no need to change the opening.

That front view of the COE on the street is awesome! Hope to see you tearing up the road in it soon.

    Dave

  10. Hey Jeff,Welcome to the Forum,Glad to see you here,How is your F123 coming?

    Thanks man!

Thank you Dave,Those dually wheels I had on the front were just rollers.
I finally put some wheels and tires that are close to what I'm planning to run.
    UPDATE:
So finally had a little time to mess with small stuff on the COE.
I cleaned up some 16" steel wheels and set some 215 85 16 tires on them, these fill the front and rear fenders better.:

Also I started straightening the little bumps on the bumper and cleaning it.
I added 9 4" Rivets across the bumper.
Can you believe they make 4" rivets? 3" hole and 4" diameter head.LOTS of heat:

    A trip to the Dentist.
I cut the Valance and added 2 more Grill teeth.

Mr Javier Was here today with his awesome little 39 ford pick up,all the way from Las Vegas,All stock truck and he drives it HARD!
I'm sorry I didnt take pics of it becaause My phone battery was dead.
Thanks for the ride man!It definitely inspired me to work on my coe!!

Tomorrow I will start on the Bumper brackets.
Objective:Create Bumper brackets for 1951 Ford COE to 1982 chevy frame.

I could join in on a trip like that :D

  12. Nice to see an update!

  13. Holy crap! How heavy is a 4" rivet? That bumper must weigh 300 lbs! Kinda reminds me of those studded dog collars....(don't ask)

Good to see some progress.......carry on.

  14. Thanks what's going on with yours?

Hey man! The bumber is pretty heavy,so do you still shop at hot topic??
Its spring,is your coe outta hibernation yet?

Front bumper looks the balls...;) Truck is looking good.

  20. thanks man.

    WELL time to come clean...
The 1/2 balls in the bumpers are NOT rivets, they are 4" diameter spheres cut in half like the ones you find on your local steel supply...
I welded a tab on the bottom, drilled and tapped it for a bolt..
i figured someone would call me in my BS but no cigar.
so,sorry guys just having fun a little white lie.

I just stole that off the internet but that is what I mean.

    Ryland

  25. Sorry i didnt get back with an answer...i think the bumper is to thick to do all that work.
    Thanks.

  26. So i have a little update.
I havent got much done to the coe just curse it and look at it.
But I did find some 17.5" ford steelies with ford caps that i can use for it.
    The down sides are:
I only have 3 and they might be Widowmakers ....boooo!(that would make my wife happy.)
I will pm wheel kid And ask him if he can make em 18"s.
I also have 2:16" ford steelies that take the ford centercap so I was thinking I could use Those 16s in the back tland the 17.5 in the front...
    Waddayasay???
The last ugly wheel is the 16"...

    What an awesome build!!

  28. Good to see even a bit of forward progress

  29. Thanks guys.
    A little update.:
1.-I installed the passanger side glass on the door window, didnt do it right, took shortcuts and I cracked it.
    $###!+!!!
2.-I started cleaning the rear end, what a pain in the ass!!!(no pun intended)!!.
It started with the wheel not being centered in the fender opening and it ended with me taking it all off to clean and paint it all.

This issue is really confusing me.
First:the cab is mounted square on the frame rails.
Second:The bed is square and its mounted square on the frame,ok,maybe 1/4" off on one side.
Third: the fenders are both mounted at the same diatance on either side of the bed.
Fourth:the axle is dead on centered on the frame.

Yet the drivers side hub is 1"too forward...
    Oh well...
Also I'm looking for some assistance on ID'ing my axle,i googled the numbers but i got nothing.

  30. The ratio of the rear axle can be figured out by numbers that will be stamped on the edge of the ring gear.
And type of axle can be figured out from this chart.
Kind of looks like a GM corporate 14 bolt.
Nice to see an update Seth
