I was under the impression that I did not like shaved drip rails, and I haven't seen it done to a stock height Merc before either, but looking at this one, I think it looks great. I'm not sure I would have noticed it if it hadn't been pointed out but now I think it looks amazing.

 

That '51 Merc is just plain awesome; subtle but definitely effective.

 

As Spoggie said earlier in this thread, FJ holdens played a major role in Aussie custom history. Here is mine in the early 70's.

My second car was a '56 Special 2 dr. ht., Mine was Red in the middle. My Dad bought it brand new, the only "New" car he ever bought. He gave it to me in 1964 for my Graduation, it had 24,000 miles on it, It was a Dynaflow car with black and white interior. What's that they say, "If I had known then what I know now"! Oh well.
