it doesn't much matter if he was texting, dicking with the radio or picking his nose, if you hit someone from the rear, you are generally at fault for not maintaining a safe following distance.

 

The other day me and the old lady were on an errand and I saw a kid of one of those inline wheeled skateboards riding down the sidewalk. I pointed out the weird skateboard to the wife as we went by and noticed the kid was texting as he was riding the damn skateboard !!!!! Probably 12 yrs old !!! This country is doomed.

at least it was a merc that got hit and not a pickup, and at least the driver was ugly.

 

Dont be mad that a truck only gets 5 bucks when its hit and you have to come up with the other 8grand.

 

That is my biggest fear. Putting so much work into something and then to have someone damage it like that.

I was on the 101 just north of Ventura doing 65 mph and a speeding young female college student, talking on her phone, got in the center divider dirt, overcorrected, hit my 46 Fd cpe on the left rear fender/wheel and spun both of us 360 degrees. It's wierd looking at Sun 5oclock 101 traffic coming at you when half way through the spin! I thought the cpe was going to roll over but it ended up going straight in the proper direction - $2500 in damage not including paint.

 

Hey swifster my insurance is paying me off then go after them.

Jack, if the guys insurance or yours isn't getting you what you want for the merc, or decide to total it for something ridiculous, get a lawyer. I know they suck to deal with most of the time, but i've tried dealing with insurance companies before and they'll play nice but not until a lawyer steps in and explains that he/you know the law will they take it seriously. What insurance do you have? Grundy, Haverty?

I flipped my truck back over front and then rolled it on I-95 in 2006 after a girl in her mom's convertible sebring on her phone made a hard right in the middle of the highway to cross the median to get on an exit ramp she had missed. I was driving 50 mph when i hit the rear passenger side of her car, catapolting the rear of my car up an over the front, I stumbled out but spent the better part of 20 hours strapped to a board getting scans in the hospital. After all that Allstate wanted to pay me like $5,000 for my rolled crushed car and cover 60% of my hospital bills (almost $15,000). I said "lawyer", they said, "where do we send the check?" Don't let them get the better of you.!!!

Damn Shame..car was killer looking

 

Damn, that sucks! We were going to get some food one night, got behind what I thought was a drunk, 20 mph and swervin' back and forth, finally said fuck it and passed her. This bitch was reading a freakin' book( I shit you not), she was driving at night with her interior light on holding the book and the steering wheel with both hands! We just blew the horn and went on around, and got way,way,way ahead of her.

 

Should've called the cops on her as a suspected drunk, even after you passed. The inconvenience might have have taught her something, but if nothing else probably would have pissed her off.

 

Thank god for insurance! What a shame.

 

I get a lot of questions about the Merc it lives and is doing great my buddy Jeff has it in Ohio.
