Decided to figure out if the running board brackets were going to fit.
Front was fine; rear got all into the rear torsion/ ladder bars- SHIT!
I had to make one that bolted to the INSIDE of the frame rail, and came out under ( and lower than) the torsion bar, then build it back up where the running board will bolt on. Kind of a PITA, but it was interesting figuring it out.

    Like my old boss used to say, " Fit like a fac-tor-ee!" DSCN3132.JPG DSCN3137.JPG DSCN3140.JPG DSCN3141.JPG

Brake and gas line roughed in, and very soon the motor and tranny will go back in- hopefully to STAY.
    "Wheeldog57" is coming to help.
Things seem to be falling into place pretty well at this point-- I'm getting nervous! I can't wait to hear this thing RUN!! DSCN3131.JPG

out of sequence, but this shows the splash apron in place which covers all the brackets for the running board. Took some massaging, but fits together well enough ( it's a Model A after all!)
I got the front fenders, splash aprons and running boards from Ray ( "onekoolkat") after he finished his 2 door C-dan project. DSCN3143.JPG

Mike, just chiming in, love what you're building! That shot of all ( 'er, most ) of your body parts piled up on the later frame is pretty intimidating. I'd say good luck w/ it, but you've got this well in hand! Later, K6

Love this and all build threads. Especially the garage build threads. If any others out there feel like this, please start a build thread soon.

    Keep up the good work.

Forge on, fine sir, forge on....

Thanks a lot, I built my garage small due to a lack of space in the front of the property- probably good because I can only fit so much junk in at once!
This is what I need! HaHa DSCN2486.JPG

Mike, looks like you are coming along pretty good on it since I last saw it. Its pretty cool when you get the work done in a small space, compared to some shops, keep it coming.

my old lady had reserved this spot for ( another) garden- as soon as she relented, I had my neighbors backhoe and started digging!
(I'm talkin' maybe 15 minutes later) Kind of off topic, but still part of the story......................

Mike, love the build and the intermissions......Took me two years to build my coupe, 6 months was dealing with a clutch pedal.....if I had it to do over Id probably go with a C6, lotta headache for that pedal...so I figure youll be driving sooner than I did, which is what its all about...Subscribed, awesome work BTW

Thanks, "boutlaw". We all know hot rods have 3 pedals, but my truck/ daily driver has a
5 speed, and at the end of the day I'm kinda sick of shifting. (an Elder-Wimp)

58's Chevie's bigger and more light so when you passem they'll see you disappearing off in the wild blue yonder for longer...:D. Use one of the two for backup lights...More 60s ish.

That's the problem- on a boat like the Chevy they look fine but on a "little" Model A they're kind of big. I'll probably wait till I've got the rear fenders on- that adds another 20" to the width and might visually make them look smaller? Plenty to do in the meantime.
    Thanks, "Stogy"!

This A is gonna rule. I vote for the 58's or something on par... I have an old A drag coupe that still has 58 impala lights on it- plan to keep them. I love the way they look- I think too many times people get hung up on the same old recipe when part of why I love the sixties so much is because they did quirky stuff like that-

I think you posted those pics when you got your car?? I remembered seeing one on here.
Like I told my buddy "Stogy", The lights will be at the end of a LONG list-- I think the Chevy lights won't look so huge once the rear fenders are on ( we'll see).

    Thanks for the feedback everyone.

I know what I'd run if I could find a set of 58 tails lying around.....
