Man that is great. Thanks a lot for taking the time to do that Geoff @whodaky . I'm going to print these out and hang them on the garage next to my car for inspiration!

So I did a cost benefit analysis by using a proprietary algorithm that factors in my laziness and concluded I needed to outsource some chassis work, enter @cball of millworks hot rod fame. A little lift here a little tuck there and POW... progress.

Motor and tranny mount got fitted and tacked. Also got my pedal assembly tacked in place. Need to get my radiator and verify everything is kosher then I'll finish weld. Plus I ran out of argon towards the end... Thanks Obama.

Got the steering pretty well situated tonight. I turned down a couple pieces of DD shaft so that it would fit into the original steering tube. This will allow me to run a complete 1939 box and retain a full hood as well as the original column drop. It also gives me cross steer which I like.

Haven't updated for a while but I'm still plugging away. Had Andy Kohler drop the big beam axle, replaced king pins and bushings, installed F1 brakes, yadda yadda.

Played with some headlight options tonight. High versus low.

High looks old time with those stands

    low looks Y2K

    Just my opinion, though.

Time will tell what the car wants, right? Some things look right after the car comes along closer to done

True. The stands are pretty cool, they're old units with shitty chrome... I'm a sucker for shitty chrome.

Bought tires and installed on the rims. Painted the wheels and put on caps and rings just because.

Finally found a 4.11 posi and I also assembled the rear end which has small bearings, but I wanted 5 on 5.5 axles and 3 inch brakes. Don't ask what it took to make that happen.

Also sheetrocked and insulated the garage.

Then I decided I couldn't live without these bad ass old chrome exhaust manifolds. You know what that means right? Tear out the whole steering set up.

It'll get chopped eventually but I'm going to get it further along mechanically before hand. In other words I'll eat my vegetables before having desert.

This is where the steering is as of last night. It's going to require some more fine tuning but this is the general idea. I ended up moving the box forward a couple inches so that the mast would still work with the stock 32 column drop, although I may have to lower the drop with a one inch spacer to dial it all the way in.
