a few pics from the trip, taken with a Kodak Pony 135 camera (circa early 1950s).

Very cool. Did you get them on a CD to upload them?

Yes, I got the negatives and a CD when I had the film processed. If I had any ambition, I'd try to find a good picture in the bunch to get a print made of.

We forget how expensive this stuff was before the digital age. No prints, I shot 6 rolls, the film and processing cost almost a hundred bucks.

A little off topic, but I've been thinking about breaking out the old film camera, but then I don't have a computer, just a phone, So I'd have to come up with a way to share if I wanted anybody else to see them. I forgot about processing costs! That's crazy, it's been a long time since I had a roll processed though.

You might look on the internets to see if there is a lab that will process the film, scan it, and either email you the images, or store them on a server so you can download them.

Memory is a LOT cheaper than film, these days! It wasn't when I started using digital photography in the late 90s

the Citroen was my favorite...we had one when I was a kid. Having one that's working, all these years later, is quite an accomplishment

  9. Around here it's nigh (excuse Tick reference) impossible to get your actual negatives back when you get a roll of real film processed. You must have a real photo film lab still operating in your area.

there's one in Tucson, Photographic Works, they will likely process your film if you mail it to them, and mail you back the negs.

Cool beans! I have one of those, haven't used it for years. My auntie used it for slides on her jaunts. Anaston lens, it has some good polarizing effects if the sun is at the right angle. Lens coating is radioactive, it's just as hot as the check sample on the side of the Victoreen geiger counter anyway.

There is nothing more fun than to go on an adventure in a vehicle that most would never think of. Thanks Squirrel for letting us all live vicariously through your ability to not be daunted!

That was the first of 3 separate cross country trips, from Seattle to Oshkosh in the 46 IHC firetruck, going to devils tower was a side trip on the way back home, I-90 has some great scenery!
