I will add a Canadian entry to the contest. This is the Imperial Oil station in the inner harbour of Victoria, BC. For any of you that came up for Duece Days a few years ago, this is the area where all the '32s were parked.

Dagnabit! Every time I get on the H.A.M.B., I see something else that I want. Now I want my own freaking gas station. Am I the only one with the "Iwantits"? This one is from Decatur Illinois and has been restored by one cool business type man!

This station still supposedly exists in Boise Idaho. The neon tubes on the tail made it look like it moved up and down at night. See many more old gas station photos on theoldmotor.com

Damn near bought a porcilin Mobil station dissassembled about ten years ago, the forties and fifties spec kind. It just came down to space, not to mention the historic district freaking out!

  8. This is just a few miles from our shop. They just moved it into town and restored it. Now it SUCKS!

It is still there as far as I know. I have spent many nights sleeping in the parking lot about 10 years ago.

Its still there , at least as of four years ago.
The waiting area for customers being on the second level was WAY cool.

My buddy's parents had a small 3 pump station with an outside pit to work on cars. We hung out there working on our cars back then. Here is a pic my buddies 59 vette and the front of his 54 ford he raced I believe it was F/H (hotrod) class back then early 60's. It was a texaco then a pure station.

We really like this postcard that we have on The Old Motor Showing the Devils Elbow Cafe, gas station and post office.

I love seeing pictures of the old gas stations! My grandparents owned one from the late 50's to the mid 70's in WV. It was an old Gulf station.

What a bunch of cool stuff, love the oldies. My Dad's first station was a Standard Oil with those cool crown gas pump tops. When we opened up they gave us boxes of the crown tire valve caps to give away, choice of red or white! 1950, I thought it was so cooool! ~sololobo~

I need to get a copy of my grandfathers gas station . The picture is from 1946 and it was located in the Eagle Rock area outside of LA for decades.

  22. BOONES ... Are you talking the gas station/resurant at desert center?

Who remembers ......Stuckey's ... "Eat here and get gas"?

A guy here in Atwater (East of Castle AFB) purchased an old Esso station for $1, if he disassembled and moved it.
He poured a slab in back of his house, (he has 10 acres) and now has a replica station with pumps (inop) and a bell...So cool! What a workshop! Office and all...

I am generally a huge fan of FLW but that gas station is not his best work. Love the station in the first post and the Conoco in Texas (and of course Flo's).

Sam, I do not remember a resturant. My main memory of it was being a Shell station in the 70's but before that it was a Texaco and before that an off brand
