Projects The bucket of ugly! A de-uglifying thread...

I've seen it in person as I live in Edmonton and hang around with a few of the old hot rodders in town :D. It is very nicely finished.

So then you have met Dave. A nice guy.
I know a bunch of the guys too, but don't do much hanging out.
I've been told that I should join the ESRA but I'm not much of a club type.
Lone wolf more or less. :)

I had a bad experience a while back with the old 5 6 7 club here in Edmonton.

  11. Hi guys and, yes, I'm still poking my head in now and then and totally enjoy the posts. I like and a wee bit envious of the leg room of the style of body Fred is going with. I have used that same idea of running the steel frame across the floor of my body for the seat base except I used square tube going up the sides too for the door locks.

  12. Say what you feel. That is what made this board great in the first place. It ain't about participation medals. Even Chip agrees with me.

  14. I actually had the same experience with the ESRA - I am technically a member (since about 1989, well, at least I still have a membership card :D) but do not partake in any events, just bs with some of the guys.

So many things on it are completely wrong to my eyes. !!!
    I always hated that thing,

Looks like it was designed by a committee...

70's "Fad T". Typical of the times. 40 years ago, I'd have thought that was "nifty". Now, not so much. Now, I'm thinking the rear tires are too fat. No front brakes? Brass lanterns, like on that Antique show? Sorry, it just doesn't appeal to me.

lanterns, squeeze horn, four bars at wrong angles, headlites, front wheels, choice of engine, drag link for steering, pitman arm angle, over-all look. hated then, hate it now.

A better than average early 70s Fad T. That steering scares me, though.

  21. Damn it, Fred. After watching that, I'm more anxious than ever to get my little Dodge bucket on the road! Unfortunately, I am still lacking a drivetrain, wheels, steering, wiring, fuel system, seating..............

  24. Note the milk crate and (literal) floor shifter. Way ahead of you, man. :)

  25. I know it's been used before, but shouldn't that crate be placed in front of the firewall? Wouldn't that make it a.......

  26. Don't worry, I have a "traditional" metal milk crate to use as a "crate motor".
