So as us Aussies head into Autumn and the days get colder and shorter and we're reminded of the deathly cold that is coming its time for one more dance before the cars go away until next spring rears its head. So that means its time for the Black Forest Drive #12.

This is a no fuss , down on the low event, There were 3 of us doing it now its down to Peddro and I, but as its no fuss we can manage to pull it off ok. But this year Peddro had to step up and run the day himself as I am stuck in quarantine. Its a real bummer to miss your own run, but the runs bigger than one person and the forecast was for perfect weather and well it delivered. I don't think you could dial up better weather than what we had yesterday for hot rod driving and enjoying.

For those who haven't read one of the previous 11 posts on the run, its a driving event. Its an invitational to pre 41 traditional hot rods. we start at a servo in the Black Forest , where we then hand out a map to follow. Only Peddro and I know where we're going until that time and we now end up at a pub for lunch. When Dave was in on the gig he supplied some great sausages for a bbq, I really miss them.

So I do the organising and Peddro does the poster its $10 entry and you get a poster and a drink for the trip. Peddro knocked it out of the park again with the poster. My eyes are constantly drawn to the headlights , it looks so real with the use of light

So enough typing, everyone wants photos.

    The poster Peddro did

What a fantastic run it was too.

Sorry to not have had your presence there @flatoz but your partner in crime handled the situation ....... well most of it ;);) The bridge excursion was a great touch for those of us who hadn't seen it before.

That said - this has to be about the best low keyed event on the Victorian hot rod calendar, and I am so pleased to be invited along, seeing some great scenery, fantastic cars, and chewing the fat with a great bunch of people - what more is there to an event??

The down side ....... I have to wait for 364 days until the next one.
    Thanks again.

Mark, glad to have you along and glad it was a good day. Peddro told me about the missed turn, that is a cool bridge at least. Always good to get out and scour the back roads, there are some great sights to be seen.

thats it for today and the start , some driving shots tomorrow. Just need to sort them out a bit

Great looking hot rods. As much as I love hot rods, one of the pictures showed some true unobtainable vehicle here in the USA. I get all goosebumped when I see a Holden Maloo……and there it sits in the picture

  22. I have such profound respect for you cats over there, especially considering all of the rules and regulations you are forced to follow, not to mention the shipping costs for anything coming from over here. Great pics of some cool folks and beautiful hot rods. Thanks for posting........Don.

Last of the photos from the start. these were sent to me from Greg.

Don's 40 coupe, he must have been a late arrival - even though he probably lives the closest!

I love the cars all around shots but the below one just says freedom in a hot rod to me. straight road in front, big blue sky and I'm assuming the flathead was just purring.
