The Auderer Roadster: Part 3

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Ryan, Oct 14, 2015.

  1. A big shout out to Wade Monson of Buffy's Vintage Stainless who has been knocking himself out polishing parts for the engine and a few other items on the car. It's gonna be a stunner and I can't wait to see it all together.

How did you attach the panel to the firewall? Panel bond ?

  3. Yes, automotive trim tape holding it in place so we don't need to drill holes in the panels

  4. That engine in front of that firewall, Oh Man!

  7. What's the story on that work of art Tardel is using for an oil pan?

  8. Interesting oil pan. Apparently can hold more oil, made of alloy and the fins provide a little bit of extra cooling. Correct me if I am wrong.

Some folks on methamphetamine dig perfectly square 20' holes in their front yard. Others, build oil pans...

It was actually built by a circle track guy somewhere in Oklahoma.

Anyway, the build continues. We still don't have all the parts, but it's starting to come together.

Hopefully you will do more of those kick ass artistic photos like you did with the Canarozzi '29. I keep those handy as a reminder of what awesome looks like.

Honestly, I'm a little bummed with my photos... This is probably the prettiest flathead I've ever seen. Honest.

Yeah, I hate when I get my reflection in pics of my car. That's why I prefer to leave the engine coated with an intermingled layer of dust and oil mist.

:D That engine (whole car actually) looks lovely.

Bullshit. That's melodrama. Crank sound great.

  27. Nice use of new parts to make a traditionally styled engine. Sounds smooth and looks the part! Incredible build.

By the way, write the book and you've got a customer.

I'm willing to bet that the original designers of the Ford flathead, as well as the aftermarket guys such as Navarro, had no idea that their work would still be revered and ogled over 50+ years later. Sweet looking and sounding little motor!
