  2. Thanks guys! Had to work on the Edsel and house stuff tonight, so didn’t mess with even getting the Buick off the trailer. Did find out it came with a kitten when it was meowing in the driveway... My wife and daughter were happier about that than the car.:D

I assume the kitten has found a new home with you all ? Gotta post a couple of photos of the kitten, that is a sign of good luck.
Cool name for the Kitten is either Dyna or Flo, or Dynaflo or Special.

  4. Yep, I’ll have to get a couple pics. We spent about an hour last night trying to get it out of the engine compartment. It was great at escaping us and running to whichever side that the hood wasn’t opened on. I did get to verify that the latches on both sides of the hood work in all that. :D Oh, and the name did already come up and will likely be one of the things you mentioned.

I gotta remember that trick, sell a car and load it with a few feral cats;)
I bet you can polish the grill before the grin comes off your face!

  6. You have got to be KITTEN me.... so what is the name, Dynaflow or maybe Dyna or Flo?

Congrats on the purchase, I'm sure you'll have fun with it. Writing from Europe I never understood the obsession with 2 door cars, we always had 4 door "old man's cars" racing (well, maybe not Buicks but...) so no stigma ever attached to them. :)

That's a really convoluted way to get rid of a cat.:p

I'm digging the car, and looking forward to the further adventures.

  10. The irony of the cat piece of this story is my wife mentioned something about almost getting a kitten at Walmart the other day...to which I replied it's a good thing she didn't. Well, that sort of backfired on me...

  13. They're selling kittens at Walmart now? Though I guess that really doesn't seem too surprising.

LOL, thats awesome edit work. Love the plate. Had to check the first post to see if it was originally ZZ or not. Thanks for the morning chuckle.

  15. I didn't even notice the plate. My eyes just went to the gold tooth. Now, I need to see what else he edited. That is too funny! :D

  17. At this point any car older than even about 30 isnt boring. What would have been your average beige boring shitbox, is now seen as "cool" because its old. Granted, the older they are, the cooler!
Now, the cars I see as cool may not strike many of you as interesting, the reason I see them this way is because I was born ~15 years after they were built.

  18. I saw a nice '51 Buick for sale at a cruise event about 4 years ago, $10,000 and every bit as nice as your car. I got an eye peeled right now for something similar.

I really like those models, especially the grills.

  21. That beautiful Buick was built when cars all had style and did not all look like each other!

Me too:D. Cats & hot rods have always gone hand in hand at our house:). I miss good old "Spotty" who would survey the yard from atop my old '39.

  26. Ummm . . . Don't spend too much time looking for more "Easter eggs". Though now I wish I'd added a fourth "Venti-port" on the side of the hood. And I didn't even realize it till later, but I guess that windshield visor qualifies as a "New York brim".

  27. By popular request...the Buick Wild Cat (yet to get an official name). :D It has made its way in the house already as you can see...o_O

As a person who is married to a "keeper of all random cats", I can unequivocally confirm that there is no such thing as a free cat. ;)

  29. Sounds like we are married to similar women Dave. And, yea, that is why free was italicized. All our animals come at way more cost than free. A free dog that my youngest son brought home a while back has likely cost us thousands as much stuff as it has chewed up...
