History The 6x2 Intake Manifold. When was it introduced?

  3. High school friend of mine had a 6X2 on a DeSoto Hemi in 1958 and he bought it used.

    I know this is an old thread but here’s my 6x2 set up on a ‘56 317ci Pontiac made by Edelbrock from what I know these are made to fit 55-60 pontiac, there was only 25 made for the NASCAR series of motors. At least what I gathered and was told when speaking to someone at Edelbrock about the log set up.

    Vic Edelbrock got his hands on everything very early. The statement of 3-2’s for a 265 above shows it. In 54 he 2-4’s for a 256 Merc Y-block and a single 4 barrel in aluminum for some reason. Vic was in the business to move product. A 6-2 would not have had the same potential to sell in the quantities he liked but that didn’t stop him from making them in a manifold style and not a log.
