I think the curvature is wrong on them. If so they wouldn't work unless you sink them into the body or build the body out to them

  3. Wasn't liking the chop, but now I am. Good to see you moved it around until the roof looked right, great work Pete!

It looks great the way it is, BUT having said that I agree with you completly. I'm a big fan of "sloped" chops on a custom though.

I think the second picture looks far better than the first pic. More pleasing lines, and better from all angles. As I have aged, I have come to the conclusion that more is not always better. :)

I checked and meant to get back to you.

I did not have another 33-34 firewall but I do have the 1 rim.

    oh cool.

that means i'll have a full set, and i didn't cause the end of the world cutting up a Simard firewall.

    everything is comin' up roses...

Ok,,,spent some time on the Merc today after Stafford. I lowered the rear of the roof 1/4" and raked the back the amount needed. I ended up just cutting the sail panels out making new filler panels, I chopped and re-chopped it so many damn times the pieces were getting scabby!. I still have to make the rear corners of the quarter windows and do the door tops but even before that I have to fix the gaps on both doors, they are really BAD>

The rear window looks a bit high(in relation to the rear quarter windows). I think it would look good with the rear window positioned about 3 inches lower. Not trying to cause any more work for you. Just my 2 cents. Looking good.
