Easy to regret not buying that project now for sure Pete. You've made it into an awesome rod, something to enjoy. It's been fun following along in the ride so far to get here. Hope you and everyone heading to NJ have a blast.

Pete, just read the entire thread in one sitting. Outstanding job, great save. The coupe has turned out killer. Enjoy the sand.

  10. Ive been seeing all the instagram videos of it. Besides the injected flathead modified, its the Gnarliest sounding car on the beach this year. Super great job man, Ide give all my possessions for that car!!

Like a slogan a beer company up this way uses..."proudly 100 years behind the times"

This pic I would sum up to say "Proudly 60 years behind the times"

Thanks for sharing that Robert. Such a great event

and now after mentioning beer I will

    have one...;)

    To coin Mike B

    Have lots of Fun

    Mr. Peetah

    and all

    the others

    participating in

    the festivities.

Just got home and took the longest shower of my life! I'm so beat and as red as a lobster.

We arrived in wildwood at about 1:30pm Friday, no traffic or problems.

Met some new folks...met Titus, super nice guy. Had some beers, met some more cool folks and has a few more beers. Car was running mint too. I got 14 or 15 runs in on Saturday...won a few and lost a few but honestly it's more than that with this event. It seems to bring folks together a forge new friendships...prefer cool I think.

On the way back to the car corral I was blipping the throttle and playing a little hard with car, now prior to the race I welded the spiders and new it would skip on black top but I couldn't help myself.

I came to stop sign and upon leaving it I felt the rear end kind of catch up, kinda felt like a worn axle key slot....checked it out and found nothing.

Soooo this morning on my first run the car was breaking up and running ragged, it popped out of second gear and I stabbed it back it...didn't feel right.

Immediately I lined right back up with my Pal Chris and we left the when the flag dropped, about 100 feet out something went wrong??? The car wasn't moving so I almost came to a complete stop and nursed it to the finish line.

I walked around the car and touched the passenger side rear wheel and it pretty much fell of....broke the damn axle right at the hub...

Oh well...I had a fantastic time! Well worth the outcome.

Glad you had a Great time and the axle broke at a good time and place. This was a common thing back in the Model T days and this rescue tool was used to get you rolling on all four with the addition of another front wheel. Bob DSCF8603.JPG

Given all the fleabag hotels we've stayed in over the years that is saying a lot. Did you come home with the Hep C?
