Does anyone out there make a kit to covert a Th400 chevy tranny into a switch pitch tranny. Like Buick had back in 65-67?
I had a friend that swapped the front pump and torque converter from a buick switch pitch in to a Chevy case once. It was long ago but it seemed like he had to drill a hole or two right behind the front pump. You could also use an adapter and just bolt the buick trans to your Chevy. Make sure you space the torque convertor back accordingly to keep the convertor engaged in the front pump properly with the adapter in place.
Running short on time right now...but do an "Advanced Search" under H.A.M.B. member "Squirrel" user name for switch pitch....he's outlined the details several times. If you can't find it I'll try to post the info later.
that would work for the 430 equipped ones, they were BOP pattern, the Nailheads nope. But it's easy enough to convert one and use your case. You just need a donor for all the pump stuff.
