Theres a place in McCoulloch County called Whon. I thought Juan but the locals straighted me out. It's pronounced Lone.
Not far from there is Trickem. There are 6'X4"X4' stacks of stones for graves. The road winds thru them. I'd still take another Pearl.

What other State you know of that you can drive west 880 miles on the same road and still not leave the State. Gotta love it. Thank God I am not in North Texas cause I don't know how you can deal with the Dry Towns.

If you can hold out one more day, I'm pretty sure it's supposed to drop all the way to the 90's!

    You forgot and humid.
Payback for the mild winters. I moved here from Ks. Just as hot in the summer, but not as long. Winter up there really sucks. Great fun to talk to folks up there in Feb. and tell them it is sunny and 75 here.

I got up this morning at 4:00 so I could come down to the shop and spray a truck. (which in and of itself is a great story. every hear of Ian Crocker? no? google him. hot rodder.) when I opened the door, it was like walking into a furnace (which I am used to as we don't open until 9, and typically it's pretty warm when I get here) but sheesh! my tools were still hot to the touch. the cars were still hot to the touch. yeasterdays coffe was still warm (but I made more anyway, because I had some waking up to do.) The shop cat was absolutley BITCHY.

the 90's You say? awesome! is that before or after midnight?

  21. Shiner Beer?! Most of the guys I know in Shiner (cleanest little city in Texas) won't drink it. My mom and her Hubby live there and they won't drink it either.
But it sho was fun going to the brewery back in school daze and sucking up left overs.

    Mikey did it

I'm a Texan at heart. I lived there half my life... met my wife there, and both my children were born in Texas. One day, I'll be back... but I do love Louisiana also!
Maybe we can get Texas to annex Louisiana?(LOL)

I hope you don't mean over-rated. I like to think of Texas as a 33-34 Ford, bigger and a little classier. Just my opinion. :D

Yep, I guess they've been overrated since the 50's.

If you'll watch this movie for about 5 minutes, there's a discussion about the hero buying a 32 from an Old Fart (must be at least 40).
    Goes a little like this:

...."Gave 695.00 for it 26 years ago, 10 years ago it wasn't worth anything, last month I was offered 100.00 for it, when it gets back to 695.00 I'll sell it."

Bass, Next time you are in Richardson and hungry, Stop at Del's Hamburgers, right near Main St. They have Cold frosty mugs of root beer. Not sure if it is home made or some brand but it is pretty good.
