I'm a little better with a wrench than a puter, but here goes. I'm 44 and I got my kids raised and out and now it's play time. My pop used to talk about street racin a 32 v8 flattie and all the stuff they did to em. (way before my time)and loved to hear the stories. I got schooled by pop and my brother on small chevys, but they don't much light me up, so my first old girl is a 53 merc I picked up a couple of months ago. It's all oringinal, and it has the original flattie and a good block to work with(i finally got one). I'm learnin about the flat motors as fast as I can, and got a great machine guy that seems to know his stuff that's working with me on ressurecting the motor. I'm leaving the body alone, lowering her a few inches, hope to be on the street in a couple months. I'm also helping Big Ken build his rat powered 33 pu. I've been readin you guys for a few days, and I have already learned a bunch. Thanks for the great site. 53ash

I wish I could be cruisin' soon, but it sounds like you'll be runnin' long before me. If you ever change your mind about the body and decide to do a chop or mods, i'm here to lend a hand.
