Recently was looking at a book, Tex Smith's, How to build chevy hot rods.

But apparently it's not written by Tex Smith, which seems odd.

Anyone know anything about the book, and is it any good?

I believe the book you are looking at was written by Rich Johnson, published by Tex Smith.

  3. A lot of really informed and intelligent mechanics and builders in general are not writers. It is common for someone else to actually write the book getting all their information from the expert or in collaboration with the expert if you will.

  4. Tex Smith is as good a writer on automotive subjects as any one. He was a publisher also, trying to make a living like all of us. As age has evolved, many of his books are dated, but still pertain well to the era and vehicles featured. I have read every book that Tex has written or published and would recommend them to anyone. If someone else is involved, their name is on the cover.
