Today I got an email from Ten Publishing, telling me that Street Rodder Magazine had bit the dust. They went on to say that since I had a subscription to Street Rodder Magazine I could get the digital copy of Hot Rod, Motor Trend or Four Wheeling magazine. Needless to say I knew they would offer something, however I thought they would offer a magazine for the remaining months of my subscription, not the digital version. IMHO this is total garbage not giving you another paper magazine. I will not have them give me a digital version, I won’t read a digital version.
So honestly what's left for us? Kulture? I always kept a rod & custom subscription. Was i the only one?
you aint a never gonna catch me looking at no old cars on that dang ole interweb they collecting data and spying on ya
I'd think that if they cancel a PRINT mag they'd offer a different PRINT mag as a substitute. Apparently I don't think very well
Wearing mine right now.... Maybe we should start a thread on how to make a traditional tinfoil hat. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
I have digital subscriptions to Hot Rod and Car Craft predating Black Friday where TEN axed 22 titles. I travel a lot to places outside the US where getting these mags has always been tough. The digital version sucks. It’s like a chimpanzee on weed scanned them in and created the tablet interface. I don’t look at them anymore because it’s not like content created for the ‘net. It’s an afterthought. Maybe that will change now that they aren’t printed anymore (Car Craft).
When I told my 15 yr old son about them getting rid of my magazines he immediately said "well it's a good thing you have all those old ones" let the bathroom (I mean library) smell of mustyness !
I'm not even going to tell my wife that they quit printing them as she will gloat too much. She thinks that I stack magazines up on the table next to my chair to build a wall to hid from her anyhow. I'm so far behind on actually reading the magazines that I'm good for at least a year anyhow.
Tell (don't ask) Ten publishing for a prorated refund! They reneged on the contract of a printed Street Rodder subscription and can't deliver said purchase by you. A digital description should be an offered option from them to cancelled subscribers, not a take it or leave it ultimatum. Has anyone asked for a refund in lieu of a digital subscription replacement? I'd be surprised if they fought you on the refund.
