That's looking really good. I really like the rear end on it. Can't wait to see it finished. Looks like you probably have an hour or two in that project

cut up a 56 lincoln hood i had laying around to make the filler pieces on either side of the "boattail"...needs tweaking/fine tuning,,but it looks like its gonna work great,,the curves are exactly the shape i needed for that area,,,,,this is early in the mockup stages,,but i think it's gonna fly,,,,,,,

Did you choose a back bumper yet?

  13. And once again, it gets even more amazing! Loving the speed boat vibe on that rear deck.

I vote for none - or at least something minimal.

Wow, lookin' good. I'm thinking you might want to extend the rockers, maybe with a flare and drop the side trim down some at the rear or use a molded in side pipe to bring it more in proportion with the quarters which appear to hang lower.

I guess you reworked the whole car while I was typing.

Nobody could accuse you of commitment issues. Glad to see this still being followed through. Do you even sleep at night or are you 24/7 tweaking the ideas for this?
I can't compare it to metal work(which I do for a living). That sounds too plain. A sculpture is a more appropriate decription of your car. I'm fascinated by it and find more interesting aspects everytime I look at it. Total art.

I know you say two seater but she's screaming for some of those swivel seats done in a green and white tuck and roll with angel hair and a TV in the middle of the dash. Playing black and white movies and then "bam" it flips to "Toto, something tells me that we aren't in Kansas anymore"

Awesome ride. Glad to see you finally got air in the tire. It was really starting to bug the shit out of me!

  27. As crisp as the lines are on the deck(where the center meets the Lincoln pieces) couldn't you hinge it?
That is a lot of space to be accessed by just the back seat.
Like you really want to hear this...hinge it from the outside edges with a rolled bead down the center on one side overlapping the other. Upholster the underside to match the seats...it would look sooo finished then.
Are you still thinking expanded gold mesh on the sides? It kind of breaks up the smooth you have going so far. How about engine turned, or maybe a finned extrusion?

I'm really enjoying your build threads. They are kind of not so subtle kick in the butt to get me out to the shop.

  28. It's been awhile since I've been on, and man it blew me away to see how far the Ford has evolved.

I just sold a set of 65' T-Bird rear seats that would look bad ass as your front seat. If you remember, the ones with verticle pleats, that wrap around with the contoured packing shelf. Ya might wanna check it out.

That would look pretty damn good

  30. Such a cool profile...though to my eye, there's still 8-10" where the top of the front fenders and the door meet that still might be mistaken for a shoebox Ford...

    Really looking slick Jim...
