If you're like me, you check in, hit the 'new posts' search, and there are a bazillion posts to catch up on. (Like if you hit this link: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/search.php?do=getnew which gets you everything new in all forums since the last time you logged in) That works out to a bazillion/25 posts per page. I like to see a bunch of posts on a few pages, instead of a bunch of pages with a few posts on each page. The user account options let you set that to a lower number, but not any higher than the default of 25. Here's how to get 200 posts per page in any search results: 1) Do the search as normal. You'll get the first page of results, along with the "1 2 3 >" page index. 2) Hit the '>' or '2' link to bring up page 2 of the results. 3) You'll see the URL listed in your browser as something like: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/search.php?searchid=3601861&pp=25&page=2 The last two are pp (per page) and page (page number) That's what you need to modify. Go to the URL field in the browser and change pp to 200, and page to 1. (Actually, anything higher than 200 gets limited to 200, so I usually just hit the 1 key a couple of times and end up with pp=251,page=1) Don't add any spaces, just change the last two numbers so it looks something like: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/search.php?searchid=3601861&pp=251&page=1 4) hit enter, and it will bring you to page 1 of your search...with 200 posts per page. It's easier to do than to explain, so give it a shot. Search...page 2...change pp to 200...change page to 1...enter. The upside is that it shows 200 per page, and stays at 200 while you're going through the pages of a search you tweaked this way. The downside is that you have to do it each time you do a new search.
By the time you look at the 200 post your behind on the new 200 post that have been left. I believe that you are creating a time line vortex that will cause a time shift. Hell, you might wind up in 1940 or even worse 2020. DON'T screw with time!! I saw back to the future twice.
I usually RSS feed all the hamb posts to my google reader.. and flip through them there.. If you are running the firefox browser.. and some other browsers do this too... you can click on the rss icon (the orange thing with the squigglies .. looks like a speaker) and you can "add the HAMB as a live bookmark". Then click on "Subscribe to this feed using: " your rss reader.. i use my google rss reader because its online.. you can install one like rss owl on your pc too. it shows me all the new topics.. not necessarily the posts from people about those topics.. but if its interesting i click on it and it opens it up in a new tab or browser.. and i can easily read the aditional posts. It lets me collect all the stuff the hamb and jockey journal and other boards and blogs etc etc into one interface.
Grab the hammer with thumb and forfingers on the left hand, and at the same time klik the hell out of your mouse while looking at naked stuff.
