Tech week....Home made seat covers, or Louver press?

I'm debating what to do with tech week, my entries are always a week early or a week late. But maybe it will work out this time. So here is what I'm considering:

    1. Seat covers w/o an upholstery machine. I see a lot of people trying to make seat covers with a home sewing machine, its possible but things need to be done a bit differently to make it work. I have an upholstery machine, but what the hell, I know most people don't, so a tech on how to do tuck and roll with a dinky machine might help some people out.

    2. Louver press. Something similar to Dutch's "Awful Tower". The scrap bin at work has been over flowing, seem like someone ought to make something nifty out of all that scrap. I've got an old dump truck pump and a cherry picker cylinder. seems like it would work well enough.

    any thoughts?

The seat cover idea would be more helpful to most people, IMHO. Everyone needs upholstery but not everyone will do louvers.

Sounds like something Fatlucky could pull off - haha.

I'd rather see a louver press, then again I have a commercial sewing machine. It has no walking foot so I also have to do things a bit differently, but it'll sew whatever you throw at it.

Get to work on those seat covers. Like it's been said, Everone needs seat covers.

  19. OK, lets get real and do the louver press please,ha,ha. I like the idea of upholstery, but face it. Even with a machine ,most of us still couldn't do it....Besides, I can buy an interior kit but no-one sells louvers in a bag!

I think wearing pants when you drive would probably help with that, but I don't want to cramp your style or anything.:D

I vote seat covers too, but both would be nice.
