Tech Week 2014: How to make a firewall dish with hand tools

    Nice work!

    What gauge sheet metal did you use and more or less a time frame on hammering it out welding it up? Not making the jig.

    18g AK steel. Just the hammering doesn't take long at all. It's the planning, measuring and material cutting that takes the time. Also the continuous welding process I copied from Cody Walls saves serious time!

    Great tip, as to splitting the depth, into two pieces! The corners worked out to looking like a die-pressed job.
