Hey, has anyone used easy grind mig wire? I guess its supposed to let the beads grind off easier, but ive heard that it isnt as strong. Ive never used it. Is it strong enough for body work? Is it worth it? Any tips would be appreciated........................Briggs
It's good stuff for sheet metal but it is NOT for structural welding. I don't think there is a huge price difference.
Tech tip on the above mentioned area: use beveled flap sanding wheels instead of hard grinding wheels. Choose your grit carefully.
[ QUOTE ] Choose your grit carefully [/ QUOTE ] does it grind off THAT easily? Grinding wheels are too course? Also, does it melt easier so a different amp setting would be needed?

I didnt see that it was real easy to grind. maybe a tad better -but not that much.Cant really remember the brand-seems like it was "american wire" or something.......
the company that makes the wire is ESAB its called easy grind wire and is only available int .023 dia. if you have Airgas local they can order it for you. I have not used yet... but have some on order. but the stuff as i understand it dosn't need a grinding wheel just a flap wheel... probably 60 grit to keep the heat down. Garth
